If : If you are young and still growing, this may be due to a condition known as osgood schlater's or tibial tubercle apophysitis. This is a problem that generally heals on its own with time and maturity, although there are several options to help the discomfort in the mean time. Ice, anti-inflammatory medications (oral or topical), and a counter-force strap known as a chopat strap can be helpful. Sometimes a period of rest is needed to allow the symptoms to settle down. Get it put back: Well, if you're sure it hasn't gone back into its place spontaneously (often happens quickly after it pops out) and if you are sure that it is actually out of place and not just injured then, your only option is to get thee to emergency-- or to a trainer if you are a college student or athlete. Needs evaluation: Veins should not hurt. If you have a bulging vein and it is tender, then this is suggestive of superficial phlebitis. You should see a vein specialist for an evaluation.
