Unpinch the nerve.: Sounds like you have a disk herniation. As long as the pain is tolerable, and you do not have progressive increasing weakness, or lose the ability to control the bladder or bowels, the vast majority of disk herniations can be treated without surgery. See an orthopedist: It is hard to know without examining you, and without knowing where you are numb, what is causing your problem. It sounds like you first had an internal injury to your knee, and did the right thing by giving it a chance to heal. You can injure the peroneal nerve near the knee. This could result in weakness of your foot, and is something to take seriously - see an orthopedic surgeon. ...Read more

Nerve testing: The level you are describing for you disc herniation would not be expected to cause the numbness in that area. I would expect something lower down in the spine. There are some nerves in the legs that can develop neuropathies. EMG/NCV testing may help with the diagnosis. A Physiatrist or Neurologist may help you get to the bottom of you diagnosis. ...Read more

This requires eval: Your symptoms and signs (white count of 14,800) are numerous and only an in-person evaluation/examination can adequately assess them. I might think of some form of infectious colitis with your mucus BM's and elevated WBC count; the numbness/tingling and pain could be something entirely different.
