Nail bed pain: If there is pain anywhere that is a response to an insult either injury, inflammation or infection. You probably have anyone of this, an exam might help to distinguish, if does not get better have it checked out.

Had an operation on right hand middle finger to correct swan neck deformity in 2011 and it is starting to go back to how it was. Is this common?

Had an operation on right hand middle finger to correct swan neck deformity in 2011 and it is starting to go back to how it was. Is this common?

Not common: But it can happen. Follow-up with your hand surgeon and get evaluated. Swan-neck deformity is easier to fix sooner than later.

I am growing a tiny lump on my right hand middle finger (closer to te right side of the finger than the middle) and one on my right hand ring finger?

So two lumps: Could be related or unrelated. You need to see a specialist hand surgeon but your family doc can check this first.

Synovial cyst?: This sounds like a synovial cyst which is a benign bulging of the membranes around tendons in your hands. A good orthopedic surgeon or a specialized hand surgeon is best

I've had a bump on my right hand middle finger since I was born. Its rough and feels kinda like sand. Is it dangerous or bad?

Finger bump: If it's been present all those years without changing, it is benign. It may be a spur or boney outgrowth. A physician would have to examine it to be sure.

Right hand middle finger. When I stretch my hand then make a fist if I feel my knuckle there is a thin raised line that moves that isn't on other hand?

Right hand middle finger. When I stretch my hand then make a fist if I feel my knuckle there is a thin raised line that moves that isn't on other hand?

Tendon sheath: Based on your description alone, it sounds as if you have what is called a "Boxer's knuckle". It often affects the middle finger, and can happen to "non-boxers", I am a ringside physician, so I see this fairly often. It is due to an injury to the tendon sheath over the knuckle. When you make a fist the tendon slips to the side. If it hurts, see your Dr. (preferably sports med or hand/ortho Dr)

I have pain n my right hand middle finger tip. Didn't hurt it anyways. It pains when touching and even when I don't.

I have pain n my right hand middle finger tip. Didn't hurt it anyways. It pains when touching and even when I don't.

It may be vascular: The location suggests that you may have a problem with circulation to the fingertip. Do You see a color chage at the tip? Another thing to consider is whether there may be an irritated nerve, a microsplinter that you can't see or some other type of injury. Ask your physician to help you evlauate it.

Hello! My right hand, middle finger Distal Interphalangeal joint. This joint feels tender when I press down on it, then straighten it. What?

Arthritis synovitis: Can give a slight bit of swelling in the joint such that fluid when it's moved around takes up space and you interpret that as discomfort or stiffness. Even very early arthritis where the X-ray might seem normal can have this Synovitis can be swelling alone. Most common is OA. But many varieties of arthritides exist including associated with celiac, gi issues, infectious, rheumatoid like etc

What if any splints may help trigger finger (middle finger of right hand? When should they be worn?

What if any splints may help trigger finger (middle finger of right hand? When should they be worn?

Splint and elevate: Splits that hold the hand in the position of function (holding a soda pop can) achieve rest that may minimize the tendon swelling. Elevation of the hand particularly at night combine with short term anti-inflammatories may help.

Ulnar neuropathy: Your symptoms sound suspicious for ulnar neuropathy...a pinched nerve, typically at the elbow. When you hit your funny bone, you're actually hitting this nerve. It's caused by leaning too much on the elbow or repetitive movement of the elbow. Don't lean on the edge of a table and don't sleep with your arms curled up tightly under your head. Only when severe, surgery may be needed to decompress.

Raynaud's disease: Warm gloves. Keep fingers ; toes warm. More common among women. More common among people with autoimmune disorders. Do not smoke! Beta blockers make it worse. Calcium channel blockers reduce symptoms. Be careful of exposure to cold such as holding a cold drink.

I have a hard bump on the side of my middle finger (right hand) very small, feels like a bone and no pain just felt it today should I be worried?

Don't worry: Small masses on the fingers can be the result of several pathologies. From small ganglion cysts, bone spurs, inclusion cysts, neuromas (usally painful) and giant cell tumor (sounds really bad...But is really benign). The best solution is to have it examined by a hand surgeon who can either obtain imaging to better diagnose it or excise it to get the exact pathology.

I'm left handed but am having a lot of numbness in my right hand mostly in my thumb, pointer, and middle finger mostly at night but daytime as well?

Carpal tunnel…?: Most likely, you have carpal tunnel syndrome. This can be caused by a variety of things, and does not always affect the dominant hand. Try wearing a wrist brace (available over the counter) on your left hand at night for a couple of weeks. If it doesn't improve, see your doctor.
