Common causes include carpal tunnel syndrome (pinched nerve at the wrist) and ulnar neuropathy (pinched nerve at the elbow). Yes and no: The first part is normal. However normal sensation should return quickly once the prssure is removed and the blood flow returns. The lingering numbness could indicate aproblem with the spine in the area where the nerve emerges. You should have it evaluated, possibly with an xray. ...Read more
