First rib: i have performed first rib resection in selected patients with thoracic outlet syndrome. Most have been managed nonoperatively. Those without subclavian or axillary vein thrombosis have done well, those with prior venous thrombosis have done less well. One can expect those with psychological comorbidities don't do as well. Same holds true for those involved with litigation or seeking disability. ...Read more
