Forget Renova (tretinoin): Renova (tretinoin) does little of what you want it to. Instead see a plastic surgeon specializing in facial rejuvenation. Retin-a, the main ingredient in Renova (tretinoin) is prescriptive because it penetrates the skin to actually work. You will have some irritation at first, but your surgeon can help yu through it to wonderfully rejuvenated skin. I prefer the Retin-A combined in the obagi nu-derm system. ...Read more

Is Tretinoin. 1% "Gel" same as Tretinoin. 1% "Cream"? Why is there so much difference in prices. Thanks.
Gel more potent: Prices are arbitrary, not based on actual cost of production, but determined but what the market will bear. Shop around. When a patient of mine in not covered by insurance for this I can sometimes find it for $25 for 100 Grams. Look for OTC ADAPALENE, generic for Differin, which will soon be sold OTC. It is better than tretinoin. Price not yet known but likely to be reasonable. ...Read more

Cessation of tretinoin can lead to a reversal of some of the benefits. Not all patients respond to tretinoin creams and others can have overdrying effects. ...Read more

0.05% is stronger than 0.02%. I have not previously used 0.02% but given the choice, the 0.05% formulation will be stronger. I hope this information is helpful.

Heard that renova (tretinoin) cream made by galderma labs, and is a cheaper one, where can I find it?
Renova (tretinoin) Worthless: Renova (tretinoin) is Retin-A mixed with mineral oil to reduce the redness caused by Retin-A when you first start it. The redness is necessary for the Retin-A to work and the mineral oil is bad for your skin. The fact that you get no redness simply means that you are not getting any change. The redness goes away, but you you get the change you desire. Retin-a is best when combined. See a plastic surgeon. ...Read more

Why can the tretionin cream improve the skin texture? Does this mean the tretinoin will help thicken the skin and improve pores?
I just started using retin a (tretinoin) 0.025 cream. After my second application, the next day I had heachache, should I keep using the cream?
When using Tretinoin 0.05% cream to reduce wrinkles, can you use other night creams as well? If so, which do you apply first and how long in between?
I love tretinoin for skin rejuvenation! I generally recommend that my patients wash their face in the evening, apply a toner and then the tret. I then recommend that you wait 15 minutes before applying other creams on top of the tret. If you get skin irritation from the tret you can "cut" it with a moisturizer.

Is over-the-counter glycolic acid cream, let's say 10%, as powerful as 0.05% Tretinoin for minor lines on face?
Comparing medicines: Unfortunately it's not like comparing apples to apples. The concentrations of two different medicines don't always have the same effect. The vehicle or the purity may affect how "strong" it is. Tretinoin tends to be more effective but for mild rytids (wrinkles) the glycolic acid may work well ...Read more
