Retin A Micro Dosage
Is retinol 0.9% weaker, stronger or even with the strength of tretnoin 0.04% ( retin a (tretinoin) micro). Will retin a (tretinoin) micro 0.04 % make a difference on my face?
Retinol vrs Retin A (tretinoin): Significantly less people respond to retinol creams than to retinoic acid [tretinoin, retin a], and the degree of response tends to be less too. In theory, you should be able to apply retinol to the skin, wait till it gets converted to retinoic acid, however the conversion rate is low and varies greatly among individuals. ...Read more

Retin A (tretinoin) Micro diluted with Emolene moisturiser. Is this effective for comedonal acne? Derm asked me to leave it on only for 10 minutes every day.
Which is better for wrinkles on your face Retin A, (tretinoin) Glycolic Acid or a product containing Retinol. I'm confused. Tyvm?
Different chemicals: They are all beneficial but are different. They stimulate skin to rapidly exfoliate, make new smoother skin and stimulate collagen&elastin. Tretinoin and Retinol come from Vit.A . Retin A:brand of Tretinoin, best effect, mostirritation,Script only. Retinol :midpotency, midirritant, OTC Glycolic acid is from Sugar. Lesser exfoliation and improvement of collagen&elastin, OTC, better for dry skin ...Read more

What is the difference between retin a micro 0.04% and tretinoin microsphere gel 0.04% (supatret 0.04)?
Hi doctor. May i know is vitamin a cleanser effective at uncloggin pores? Same effect as tretinoin? Can it treat cystic acne? Thanks.
May help: However, it is not strong enough for cystic acne. This almost always requires isotretinoin. I hope that if you're offered this, you'll consider using it. It's not for the faint-hearted, but you owe it to yourself to be rid of your cystic acne for the several months or years that a course of rx will give you. ...Read more
I was recently prescribed topical betamethasone val (0.1%)(bid) and differin (adapalene) gel (o.d) for my facial acne. Is this a good combination to control acne
Not typical: A topical steroid ( betamethasone ) is not typical medication used for acne ( but it can be used). The usual medication choices are benzoyl peroxide, retinoids and antibiotics. Of course, your physician may have a very good reason to have you on the steroid. If you have a question about the choice, you should speak with your physician. ...Read more
I want to use a glycolic acid cleanser followed by a salicylic toner followed by a retinol serum. How much time should I leave in between?
Let it dry.: Be sure you dilute and remove all of the glycolic and let skin dry completely before applying the salicylic. You may get irritation with retinol over the salicylic, so best to let it dry first and if so, don't use them together. You could use a hair dryer on cool to make this quicker. Good luck! ...Read more
What is the difference between isotrex topical gel and retin a (tretinoin) ? Asked my derm for retin a (tretinoin) and he prescribed me isotrex topical gel instead
Can I use collagen boosting moisturizer above the retinoid (retacnyl tretinoin) ? Also, is the use of a retinoid compatible with breastfeeding?
Still have acne?: If you still have acne such as blackheads and whiteheads then retin a is appropropiate. Acne does not stop at 19 in everybody. It is used only at night because it increases sensitivity to sunlight. A weaker version called Renova (tretinoin) is used for fine wrinkling in older individuals. Retin a is a relatively mild acne cream especially in the weaker strength of .025. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
