Which is less irritating to the skin: Retin-A Micro or Atralin?

Irritating : The names like Retin A, Retin A Micro, Renova, Refissa, Atralin etc. Are all the same medication in different bases, like a gel, lotion or cream, and strengths. The stronger the strength the more irritating it is. Usually Atralin would be prescribed for oilier, acne prone, teen age skin. ...Read more

Why is retin-a micro taking sooooo long for me to see results ? Its been 8-9 weeks and only thing i noticed was less breakouts. Still have uneven skin

Acne is improving: Since you are having fewer breakouts, the retin a (tretinoin) micro is working. A newer medication that might work even better is epiduo. Acne is usually a chronic condition and cannot be "cured" overnight. It will take time so be patient. How are you cleansing your face? A gentle cleanser like cetaphil oil control is good, as is a brush like a clarisonic. ...Read more

Can i dilute retin-a micro? I have the pump bottle of .1% but my face peels too much from it. Can i add it to moisturizer?

Not a good idea: The interaction of various mixed materials is unpredictable and may increase you side effects. Try reducing the time duration of your Retin-A application in hours until the problem subsides. The longer it is on , the more likely for some to peal. If 1 hour is not tolerated you may need to drop to a weaker dilution. ...Read more

What is the difference between tretinoin and isotretinoin. Is retin a micro gel similar to isotrex topical gel, are they basically the same product?

What is the difference between tretinoin and isotretinoin. Is retin a micro gel similar to isotrex topical gel, are they basically the same product?

Both are Vitamin A's: One is a cream/gel the other one is a pill. Accutane and Retin-A are both forms of vitamin a, just in different forms. Retin-a or tretinoin (generic name) is a cream/gel is applied to the face and it works from the outside in. Accutane (isotretinoin) is a high dose of vitamin a just like Retin-A is, but instead it is in a oral medication that works from the inside out. ...Read more

Try it: It may be a bit much and excessively drying to use that combination. If you tolerate it and it does not dry your skin out too much, go for it as we love tretinoin as an acne medication and "wrinkle cream". ...Read more

Can I use bio-oil over my retin-a micro at night to help my face further with some scarring and uneven skintone ? Or is a moisturizer better to use ?

Can I use bio-oil over my retin-a micro at night to help my face further with some scarring and uneven skintone ? Or is a moisturizer better to use ?

Oil and facial skin: I would suggest an oil-free non-comedogenic moisturizer if retin a (tretinoin) is too drying for your skin. Better yet, decrease the concentration and/or frequency of applications of retin a (tretinoin) until your skin gets used to it. Oils applied to the skin will make you more likely to break out which may lead to additional scarring. ...Read more
