How long does it take retin-a micro to clear acne scars?

See below: Retin-a mirco does not treat acne scarring. It can help prevent new acne scars by preventing serious breakout as part of an acne treatment regimen. Some patients (especially those with darker skin tones) can develop dark spots from acne lesions. These are not actually scars and Retin-A can help improve them over the course of many months. ...Read more

If I use proactive dark spot corrector and retin a (tretinoin) 0.25 can it help with my acne scars?

No: Neither will touch actual depressed scars, not can anything else. At best, you can hide your hyperpigmented lesions and even this is likely not to be very successful. Get your active disease under control, and if you wish, get seen by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who can deal with the scars using a filler, laser or microsurgery. ...Read more

Is retin a (tretinoin) cream is works better for acne scars on face?

Not for scars: I'm sorry your acne was neglected and you ended up with scars. Nothing you can apply will touch them. If you want them less visible, a plastic surgeon or dermatologist can do laser, filler, or microsurgery. Several Hollywood male stars have kept their scars for "tough guy" roles, and depending on your self-concept, they may be a plus. ...Read more

Can erythromycin topical 2% and retin-a micro be used in the same day? Say one in the am and one in the pm for acne?

Yes: You certainly can use this combination. Erythromycin in the am and retina-a micro at night would be the best plan.

However, I rarely use erythromycin. Its just not that effective for most people. Clindamycin doesn't cost any more, and is usually much more effective, especially when it is combined with a small amount of benzoyl peroxide. ...Read more

Retin a micro 1% works wonders no pimples when using it. But when I shave and my beard begins re growing tretinoin causes pimples or inflamed follicle?

Psuedofolliculitis: Sounds like "psudoefolliculitis barbae, " or a form of razor bumps. Try applying some Hydrocortisone cream 1% to your beard area the night before you plan to shave. You likely have sensitive skin contributing to the condition, this will help. You might also need to apply another layer of HC cream after your shave, or a good aftershave lotion. Use this only on days that you shave, not every day. ...Read more

Can I use bio-oil over my retin-a micro at night to help my face further with some scarring and uneven skintone? Or is a moisturizer better to use?

Can I use bio-oil over my retin-a micro at night to help my face further with some scarring and uneven skintone? Or is a moisturizer better to use?

Oil and facial skin: I would suggest an oil-free non-comedogenic moisturizer if retin a (tretinoin) is too drying for your skin. Better yet, decrease the concentration and/or frequency of applications of retin a (tretinoin) until your skin gets used to it. Oils applied to the skin will make you more likely to break out which may lead to additional scarring. ...Read more
