Do these results mean low immunity? Diptheria Titer 0.95 int_units/ml ref range <0.10 and Tetanus Igg Titer 0.62 int_units/ml ref range <0.10

Do these results mean low immunity? Diptheria Titer 0.95 int_units/ml ref range <0.10 and Tetanus Igg Titer 0.62 int_units/ml ref range <0.10

It depends: on why this child required diphtheria and tetanus immunoglobulin titers in the first place. Most children go through the 3 stage DPaT vaccinations and never require Ig titers. Those titer concentrations mean that the necessary immunoglobulins against those conditions were undetectable in assay. Whether that means low immunity depends on the situation and the child. Ask MD that required titers. ...Read more

What do you think? Ana-positive, titer >1:640, speckled/ana titer 2-1:32, ANA pattern 2-homogeneous c3 180.8, rnpab, IgG 1.5, CRP 1.9.

What do you think?
Ana-positive, titer >1:640, speckled/ana titer 2-1:32, ANA pattern 2-homogeneous
c3 180.8, rnpab, IgG 1.5, CRP 1.9.

Possible MCTD: The highly positive ANA in a speckled pattern suggests mixed connective tissue disease. Mctd is a close cousin of lupus but usually has a better prognosis. The anti-rnp is usually be elevated in mctd. Interpreting the results of autoantibody studies can confusing. You should discuss these findings with a rheumatologist. ...Read more

What do you suggest if i had rubella at age 4. Should i still have positive titer of igg?

Most do: Some screening tests set a high basic level to consider you protected and there is always concern that the wrong diagnosis was made for the earlier rash producing illness. Since there is a vaccine available that will protect you and your family, many would take the vaccine to assure protection if there screening test showed poor protection. ...Read more

What do you recommend if I had rubella at age 4. should I still have positive titer of igg?

If it was really: Rash producing illness is often labeled without a confirmatory test.Rubella would be a hard diagnose without testing as many of todays docs have never seen it. The sensitivity of the titer may be the best way to confirm the label, but if the titer was not at a protective level, it would not hurt to get a booster. ...Read more

Do not worry: Almost everybody gets infected with herpes 6 and if otherwise healthy we are none the worse for it. Since your test was done three years ago and you are writing about it, you are fine and will not see any ill effects from the lab result. ...Read more
