Resuming Sex Cryosurgery
Had cervical cryotherapy on 09/30/14. Had sex on 10/28/14, once my OB/GYN said I can resume my normal life again. It's VERY painful! What should I do?
Slower is better: Adequate sexual lubrication, prolonged ( 15-20 minutes ) foreplay, position changes, verbal communication, massage and aromatherapy. Your cervix should be well healed by now and apparently, you did not have vaginal, only cervical surgery. Positions on your side or female on top will control depth of penetration and hopefully these hints will work. ...Read more
Help! Is it possible to have an orgasm or receive oral sex while recovering from cryosurgery on your cervix?
Yes. Not related. : Cryosurgery is treatment of the cervix for abnormal cells. If you are receiving oral sex, that should not interfere with your healing cervix. It is advised not to have vaginal penetration for 2 to 4 weeks after cryosurgery do not irritate the cervix. Cryosurgery will also not affect your ability to have an orgasm. Had cryosurgery on 10/30 on my cervix I have continued to spot every day since that sex has become very painful to the point of tears dr won't help?
See another doc..: I am sorry to hear of your trouble. Cryosurgery of the cervix done 1 month ago should have healed by now. I am not too concerned about a bit of spotting because the tissue of healing cervix is thin and easily traumatized with intercourse. The severe pain is really concerning as this suggests possible infection/cervicitis or endometritis etc...See you family doc or another gyn doc asap. Good luck. ...Read more

My obgyn told me after cryosurgery to have protected sex so not to reintroduce the HPV virus to the new cells? So does that mean it's gone i'm confuse
It's gone, for now: The cryosurgery was done to destroy the areas of the cervix that have undergone changes caused by hpv. Whether it is successful will be determined by follow-up pap smears. Since the virus is sexually transmitted, you can easily get exposed again by having unprotected sex if your partner also has the virus. It won't make the original virus come back, but it can expose you all over again. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I had cryosurgery for cancer causing HPV then had unprotected sex with my bf what are the odds of cell abnormality again?
I had sex a week after cryo surgery and i'm on the pill. Does cryosurgery increase the chance of pregnancy? Because of thinning of the cervix?
Where cryo performed: Depends on what part of your body cryo was performed. If cryo performed on cervix, then oral sex should be fine, but avoid vaginal penetration. However, if cryo performed on your vulva/vagina or clitoral area, then I would recommend waiting until area has completely healed, and your clinician confirms that area was successfully treated, especially if genital wart. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
