Definitely: Dermal fillers like juvederm and Restylane (dermal fillers) work by restoring volume to the skin or fat beneath the skin that has been lost because of aging or repetitive motion. I get cheeks with Restylane (dermal fillers) filler or perlane filler. How long filler lasts?

I get cheeks with Restylane (dermal fillers) filler or perlane filler. How long filler lasts?

Filler Duration: In my experience, hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane (dermal fillers) and Perlane last about 9 months up to and just over 12 months when used for cheek augmentation. Which fillers last longer: restylane, (dermal fillers) juvederm, teosyal, esthelis, aquamid, or bio alcamid?

Which fillers last longer: restylane, (dermal fillers) juvederm, teosyal, esthelis, aquamid, or bio alcamid?

I avoid "permanent": Though Aquamid (and others)is not available in the US, it is in other countries. (if it's being offered in the US you should avoid that office altogether). I generally recommend that my patients avoid permanent fillers though, especially when they are young like you, because you don't know how your face will change over the next 20 years. You may end up with volume where you don't want or need it. ...Read more

How do botox and Restylane (dermal fillers) injections differ?

How do botox and Restylane (dermal fillers) injections differ?

Different drugs: Botox is what we call a neurotoxin. It's a purified protein that blocks the transmission of a signal from the nerve ending to the muscle. Botox is better: If you are looking to minimize forehead wrinkles, Botox is a better option. The cause of those lines is movement of your muscles. Botox blocks the receptors in your brain from being able to communicate with the muscle it is injected into. That in turn reduces muscle contraction, which gets rid of the lines.
