Doctor insights on:
Drowsiness: The combination of these two drugs would not generally be recommended because of side effects. Percocet is a strong narcotic and is a moderate dose. One of the common side effects of narcotics is drowsiness and it can suppress your breathing. Restoril is a sleeping aid and can have the same effects, in fact, this is the desired effect of Restoril. I'd recommend NOT taking these together. ...Read more

It helps you fall asleep faster, decreases the # of times you awaken during the night, & gives you longer periods of uninterrupted sleep. It produces a calming effect. Take 30 min before bedtime. Can I take a restoril 15 mg for a dentist appointment ? Klonopin 0.5 not helping enough. Someone is driving me. (Ristoril prescribed to me insomnia)
You should ask doc: The doctor or the dentist who prescribed the Restoril should be consulted. When it comes to a scheduled drug such as Klonopin being mixed with an agent that can cause drowsiness well, giving specific instructions on this sort of network is not possible. I'm sure your dentist will have a suggestion when you get there. ...Read more
Yes: The usual dose of Restoril is 15-30 mg. 150 mg is a potential overdose. While benzodiazepines alone rarely cause fatal overdose, it can cause people to sleep for prolonged periods of time, which itself can cause damage to organs (sleeping in one position causes pressure on skin and muscle, and potentially even underlying organs). More dangerous if combined with alcohol or other drugs. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I was prescribed percocet and restoril. I took 30 mg of each at once by accident. Can this kill me? Im a little scared at the moment. I took them about 30 minutes apart.
I : I hope you are well since this is a question from a couple of days ago. When it comes to an overdose of medications, i'd err on the cautious side and would advise a patient to go to the nearest er. I don't get how you can accidentally ingest controlled medications like opioid painkillers and sedative-hypnotics such as the two pills you mentioned. I would begin to suspect intentional overdose to be quite frank. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have been taking 40 mg of Paxil for panic disorder and anxiety. I also take trazodone, restoril, and klonopin. Oddly, i've lost a few pounds without trying. Could it be a side effect of the paxil?
Not likely: Paxil is more known 4 weight gain side-effect. None of the medications u r taking is known 2 decrease appetite & result in weight loss. U need to have a medical check-up with lab studies to make sure u do not have an underlying undiagnosed medical condition that would be causing ur weight loss. Call ur general of family doctor as soon as possible. Remember it's better 2 b safe than sorry. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
NO: I agree with dr. Nemeroff that taking more Restoril is not safe. Usually people take this for sleep disturbance, which may come from multiple different sources. Depression is a big category -- and there are also primary sleep disorders too. You are now tolerant to restoril, and need to work with a sleep medicine doctor. Many such doctors are also psychiatrists. http://www.aasmnet.org/. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
More important, why?: 60 mg Restoril is hefty dose; and raises hte question why so much? Taken over time resistance/tolerance can occur, leading to escalating doses.Which cannot be continued indefinitely. There are other options for most people. There are recent findings that all meds in this general class, including Alprazolam , taken over a decade can have subtle long term consequences. Discuss with your md.. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
