I : I hope you are well since this is a question from a couple of days ago. When it comes to an overdose of medications, i'd err on the cautious side and would advise a patient to go to the nearest er. I would begin to suspect intentional overdose to be quite frank. ...Read more

I use restoril (temazepam) every night that i don't fall asleep within one hour. Why can't i just continue this?

For awhile: You could, for awhile -- but chances are that you'll eventually need a higher dose for the same effect. Have you looked into why you're having difficulty with your sleep to begin with? Anxiety/worry? Depression? Sleep apnea? Alcohol use? Too much caffeine or other stimulants? Noisy or hot bedroom? Uncomfortable mattress? Leaving tv on in your room? Not likely: Paxil (paroxetine) is more known 4 weight gain side-effect. None of the medications u r taking is known 2 decrease appetite & result in weight loss. U need to have a medical check-up with lab studies to make sure u do not have an underlying undiagnosed medical condition that would be causing ur weight loss. How much is too much of restoril (temazepam)?

Caution: More important than absolute dose of restoril, (temazepam) which shouldn't exceed 30 mg at night, are frequency and duration of use. With daily use for over a month you can become tolerant to its benefits for sleep and anxiety, but experience withdrawal if you don't take it, so you use it to avoid withdrawal even though it no longer helps. Avoid using more than 4 nights/week; try to use for under 3 months. ...Read more

I took 150 mg of restoril (temazepam). Will I get sick?

While benzodiazepines alone rarely cause fatal overdose, it can cause people to sleep for prolonged periods of time, which itself can cause damage to organs (sleeping in one position causes pressure on skin and muscle, and potentially even underlying organs). More dangerous if combined with alcohol or other drugs. ...Read more
