Yes: Excessive hand washing is one sign of ocd, but this needs to be evaluated and diagnosed by a mental health professional. If it turns out you have ocd, there are several effective treatments available, including medications and certain types of therapy (cbt). I don't know if you're the one performing or receiving the blood draws, but anxiety often makes ocd symptoms temporarily worse. ...Read more

Both work.: It's my understanding that hand washing and hand sanitizer are both good; certainly they are far better than not washing hands. If you are drawing blood, wear gloves. Don't re-cap needles, because you really can get stuck. Great question!: Many people have opinions about "how" to boost the immune system. Practically speaking, there is no correct answer to this. The immune system is very complex and I am not aware of anything in particular that will globally "boost" this.
