Remicade Not Working
Had 3rd remicade (infliximab) infusion last friday for left-sided uc. Colon is still bleeding. When would I know if remicade (infliximab) is working or not?
See below.: You have essentially received the loading doses of remicade (infliximab). It may take 2 to 3 more infusions to truly settle down the uc and then hopefully bleeding will be decreased and hopefully stopped. Remicade (infliximab) after 2 years is not working as before. What should I do ? History of crohn disease moderate to severe for 6 years so far.

You should only stop arthritis medication on the explicit advice of your rheumatologist. Depends on veins: Since Remicade (infliximab) is given IV over a two or more hour period the veins must be large enough and good enough to prevent tissue infiltration. If they are small, not plentiful, or not of good quality a port may be used since in the future multiple IV treatments will be needed. ...Read more
