Hi doctors, what is the best treatment for motion sickness that is non drowsy? Would you recommend stugeron?

Hi doctors, what is the best treatment for motion sickness that is non drowsy? Would you recommend stugeron?

Transderm Scopolomin: I am a big advocate of using transdermal scopolamine for motion sickness. It is very effective and relatively non toxic unless you get some on your hands and rub your eyes. It doesn't cause drowsiness. Stugeron, or cinnarizine, is not available in the US or Canada and causes drowsiness.

Best wishes. ...Read more

Certain maneuvers can re-position the structures so that you aren't dizzy. ...Read more

Yes: The only way to stop motion sickness is to stop the motion. However if there is nausea or vomiting with the motion sickness then ginger tea or ginger ale is felt to decrease these symptoms. I have a constant reoccuring ear infection that causes frequent ringing. Leading to dizziness and motion sickness. What home remedies are there?

Not an infection: You are describing meniere's syndrome not an ear infection. Meniere's syndrome is classically defined as intermittent tinnitus, vertigo and hearing loss. In the absence of significant pain which does not let up it is most not likely an infection. I'd recommend seeing an ENT when you are symptomatic for a good ear exam and hearing test. ...Read more

When feeling motion but not seeing it, the inner ear transmits to the brain that it senses motion, but the eyes tell the brain that everything is still, hence brain responds by vo. ...Read more
