What causes an unforseen migraine with nausea, weakness, and disorientation? I've also been experiencing growing sinus pressure & neck pain for weeks.

"Unforseen?": Don't really know what "unforseen" means here. Nausea, generalized weakness & mild confusion can be associated with migraine. Don't know about "sinus pressure." All those dopey people who say they've got "sinus"? 99% of them don't. "Sinus" is a relic of the Dristan era. Pressure in your head & neck pain can also happen with migraine, but it's not "sinus" pressure. What does "unforseen" mean? ...Read more

Severe pain in head for over a year, muscle weakness, sensitivity to light, nausea, disorientation, decline of eyesight. Any advice please?

Looks like you need: an evaluation by a medical doctor and likely some diagnostic testing. Unsure of what diagnosis the symptoms are suggesting, possibly MS or possibly narrow angle gaucoma, but sounds like you may need to see an neurologist and eye care provider. I would move quickly to be evaluated because sometimes the longer one waits, the changes may not be reversible. ...Read more

Should I have massage therapy with an undiagnosed shoulder injury, severe pain & weakness of arm?

Should I have massage therapy with an undiagnosed shoulder injury, severe pain & weakness of arm?

Probably not: While massage therapy can be quite helpful in some patients, your pain and weakness is worrisome, and you need to have a complete workup. Your doctor may want you to have MRI studies of your brain, cervical spine and shoulder. If, after a complete work-up there is nothing serious found, then you can go back to massage therapy. ...Read more

Any suggestions for treating chronic nausea and vomiting with fibromyalgia?

Any suggestions for treating chronic nausea and vomiting with fibromyalgia?

Find cause of N & V.: Fibromyalgia is a syndrome of generalized pain and weakness in numerous parts of body. It is called a syndrome because one can not find any objective evidence of a problem. One mistake the pt and doc make is that once a person is labelled as having "fibromyalgia", there is a trap other sx are part of the syndrome: n & v is not. Doc needs to look for true cause, then rx will become clear. ...Read more

Diagnosed with meniere's disease for 3 years. I periodically have the standard symptoms. Is there any treatment to relieve aural fulness?

Standard Therapy: Standard therapy for meniere''s is your best bet. Low or nonfluctuating sodium diet, daily diuretic, allergy evaluation and treatment if present. There is no one medication that will treat the aural fullness of meniere's disease, it is best controlled by controlling the disease in general. If you've had an increase in attacks, consider transtympanic steroid treatment. ...Read more

Is there an effective cure for unsteadiness and weakness with age?

Is there an effective cure for unsteadiness and weakness with age?

Exercise: Muscle cells are replaced by fat as we age & nerve pathways that aren't being stimulated die out. Make sure that the weakness is not being caused by other conditions, however. It's too easy to say, "you're just getting old." conditions that affect muscles, nerves, and energy can be obstacles. See "strong women stay young" (book) and "23 and1/2 hours" (http://www.Youtube.Com/watch?V=auains6higo). ...Read more

What can causes a 24/7 knee pain for several months that can't relived with rest or pain killers and the pain don't increase with exercises?

One possibility: Your complaints could indicate several problems, the first abnormality that comes to mind is avascular (aseptic) necrosis of the bone within the knee joint, either distal (lower) femur or proximal (upper) tibia. Depending on degree of pain with activity or rest, an inflammatory disorder (such as gout) or even infection are possible. I'd have any pain evaluated by a doctor that occurs at rest. ...Read more

Please help with treating scoliosis . I bend forwards a little and shoulders. With back pain.
Can swimming or other exercise be of any help ?

Certainly!: You say that your scoliosis is slight. That is good, and not all the uncommon. Exercise helps most types of back pain. Make sure you start slowly and work your way up. A trainer can help, too. But just do not overdo so the muscles soreness and back pain from starting at too high an intensity makes you quit. Any exercises that improve the upper back and chest will help. Good luck, and have fun! ...Read more
