-noticed in daily activities. Poor grip, hard to open doors or lift things. The main question is what is causing this. Is it due 2 lack of exercise or is it due 2 degeneration of the nerves supplying the muscles. So the definition is not being able to do common tasks in daily life. Rest, ice pm,heat am: Not sure it is an alternative treatment but in an oi patient it just take a little longer but rest if painful, ice 15 minutes on 15 minutes off in the evening and heat in the am to decrease the amount of inflammation while the tissue heals itself. ...Read more

1st need diagnosis: You may not have actually suffered "nerve damage" by virtue of your injury. You should get a good neurological examination performed of the lower extremity and then, the treatment for the "nerve damage" will be more clear. NSAIDS are good: Analgesics but it may aggravate your abdominal discomfort and barrett's esophagus. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is less effective but worth a try and less hard on your stomach. Stenosis: In this country surgery is considered the definitive care for stenosis especially for cervical stenosis. Conservative care is traction and possibly cervical epidural steroids. There is no medicine that will help this heal but sometimes anti inflammatories are used initially to help with pain and inflammation.
