Remedies For Poor Feeding
Are tracheal retractions ever normal? With noisy breathing, stomach breathing, and poor feeding(no thrive issues). Been happening for weeks.
Tracheal Retractions: I am unsure of the age of this patient but there is a newborn diagnosis of tracheomalacia or weakness of the tracheal cartilage that causes these symptoms. This is generally resolved by the age of 1. It is important to ensure the baby is feeding well and thriving. It is often more prominent when the baby is on his/her back and when the baby is crying. Follow this along with your doctor. ...Read more

Pump very little!!: When stimulation of the breast decreases, you will start to produce less milk but there me a lag time of 3-4 days until your body self adjust. In the meantime, just pump or manually express the top off your milk supply only until the engorgement improves, that it usually only a few seconds. Be careful not to pump for too long or you will keep producing more milk and persist with the engorgement. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

If only breastfeeding then mother's diet should be reviewed. Reflux, which can be present with any type of diet, can cause pain with each feeding. Work with provider to come up with diagnostic and treatment plan. ...Read more

I believe my 7 week old son has gastro colic reflex. He is breastfed only and has severe episodes at every feeding. What are treatment options? Thanks
Many: they are discovering that a good portion of infant with colic might be having a reflux. they place the patient on medication and trained you how to feed them. if there is a failure to thrive,or multiple episode of aspiration from reflux,or a lung problem ,they might recommend surgery to be done only by a pediatric surgeon, and they do it laproscopically, and they have excellent results. ...Read more
Bit 5yrs ago by wild cat never got treatment. Phobia/want vaccine. therapist thinks it would be bad idea to "feed the phobia" feel like I need it help?
No need: for the vaccine. You are well beyond any danger from this bite. Are you afraid of future bites? Even if you do have the vaccine, if you were bitten by a rabid animal you would still need to seek medical care and would be treated to prevent any consequences. Be sure to have your pets vaccinated. There are very few cases of rabies in the US and all are due to wild animals not domestic. http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/vis-statements/rabies.html ...Read more
