5 patients: (i noticed you were waiting for a while to get answers, so i will comment here although I have limited experience as a dentist.) in my fresh memories, five patients come to mind. All of them had throat/mouth cancer and got similar radiations. Loss of taste seemed common--almost expected. All five patients got sensation back, but took various time.
