What does a high neutrophil count mean in terms of your health?

What does a high neutrophil count mean in terms of your health?

Hard to say: Any lab result gives a number that is compared to a range of normal. But even the extremes of "too high" can still be normal for an individual. If the result is a change, then a high neutrophil count makes me think of infection(since that is one of the bodies responses), inflammation, stress, reaction to medication or even cancer like leukemia. Talk with provider who ordered test to put in context. ...Read more

I am wondering what having a high % neutrophil count with a low % lymphocyte count means as every time I have a CBC done it shows this.

Absolute counts?: If both the absolute neutrophil count and the absolute lymphocyte count are within normal range, simply forget about it. It's you. Trust you are HIV negative.
