Remedies For High Lymphocyte Count
My lymphocyte count is 48%. Is it normal? Or should I consult to doctor for treatment. What is the reason for that increment?
Relative: Your actual lymphocyte count or the absolute lymphocyte count is calculated as a actual number by multiplying 48% with the white blood cell count, which is usually a number in thousands. Even if the final count is abnormal any further decisions as what to do should be related to your doc to further discuss with you best approach going forward. ...Read more
Lots of B cells: A lymphocyte enumeration is a count of the lymphocytes in your blood. Lymphocytes primarily include t-cells, b-cells, and nk-cells. B-cells are identified by cd19, a marker on their surface. Have the doctor who ordered the test help you interpret the result. The number of b-cells (how how the cd19 count is), your age, blood vs bone marrow, and your symptoms help him/her interpret the results. ...Read more
Usually if we do a blood count for a person with an infection would look at the total white count as well as the differential. A high white count with a lotto neutrophils suggest bacterial infection whereas a white count with a lot of lymphocytes is more suggestive of ireland flexion.
There is no value judgment per se whether it is good or bad. It is relative to the problem at hand. ...Read more
I have had a slightly high lymphocyte count for years, but dr has only just noticed. Is there any chance it could just be normal for me or bad news?
It's just you: Reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthies fall outside on either side. If you're older and actually seem sick and the absolute count's more than say 8000, a pathologist might check you out for preleukemia, though it's not really treatable. I'll bet it's nothing. ...Read more
Both white bld cells: Blood is made up of red blood cells (too few=anemia), platelets (important in clotting) and white blood cells. Normal WBC count is 4-10, 000. Most wbc's are either neutrophils (60-70%) or lymphocytes (30-40%). High neutrophils count (and thus lower lymphocytes) often means a bacterial infection. High lymphocyte ct may mean virus infection. These, of course, are only generalities. ...Read more
Unclear: Lymphocyte "count" usually refers to blood. In tissues lymphocytes can be benign and due to inflammation or autoimmune disease, but can also be malignant (not as common, especially in someone so young). A pathologist should be working on this for you to determine the meaning of the finding. ...Read more

Speed of rise varies: When a sudden jump occurs in the white count, it suggests acute inflammation like appendicitis. There will be a higher than normal lymphocyte count and many young lymphocytes called 'bands' seen in the differential. If the WBC climbs slowly, then there is not as many young immature wbc' seen in circulation. ...Read more

CBC: You don't tell the total white blood cell count (WBC), but these numbers are generally indicative of a bacterial infection or an early viral infection. Knowing the symptoms and the rest of the blood count would be more helpful. :) ...Read more

Low lymphocyte count last three tests. Went from 17% to 13% to 19% over a year. Range is 22%No hiv. All other normal except neutrophils high. Mean?
Inflammation: A slightly low lymphocyte count usually is meaningless. A high erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) indicates an infection or some sort of systemic inflammation. Hundreds of things can cause it. High ESR never gives a clue to any particular diagnosis. It just means additional exams and testing are necessary to learn the cause. Keep working with your doctor. Good luck! ...Read more
I am wondering what having a high % neutrophil count with a low % lymphocyte count means as every time I have a CBC done it shows this.
Absolute counts?: If both the absolute neutrophil count and the absolute lymphocyte count are within normal range, simply forget about it. It's you. Trust you are HIV negative. If the absolute lymphocyte count is below 1000, or the absolute neutrophil count consistently above 10000, a hematology consult might be in order. Glad you are proactive; best wishes. ...Read more
No: I'm confident here. Lyme disease is both a real entity and a "pop" / "fad" diagnosis. There are normally a lot of lymphocytes in the small intestinal mucosa, though having a lot in the epithelium itself is more suggestive of gluten enteropathy or a few other entities. If you've got lab support for your gluten allergy (which also has "pop" proponents), this is your explanation instead. ...Read more
I have a high WBC count. HIGH neutrophils count 0.77 and low lymphocyte count 0.3, what does it mean?
How high is WBC: Depending on how high the WBC is, the findings are suggestive of an infection most likely a viral one. However rarely can a diagnosis be made with just blood test results alone. ...Read more
Dear Dr, I have low lymphocyte count and high neutrophil count. I am currently taking steroids. Is this normal? Also, I have elevated igG 2000mg/dL.
Need more info.: It would be useful to know the actual values and also the levels of other blood components. It would be preferably to discuss the results with the doctor who ordered the test as s/he has more info on your health and lab tests need to be interpreted in the clinical context. ...Read more

What would cause high neutrophil count and low lymphocyte count with a total wbc of 8? Is it cancer?!
No it is Not Cancer!: A WBC count of 8, made of neutrophils can not be cancer related. So you should not think about Cancer that much. If you feel well, you should ignore this report. If you want a more exact answer, then you need to send us the complete report of the numbers of cell in your CBC. ...Read more
Hi I just recently got a CBC done because of very bad migraines. The doctor said I have a high eosinophil and lymphocyte count. Please explain! Could?
Follow up: The question is how high and are there any abnormal cells. This will probably reveal nothing about the migraines, but if way off, may point to significant illness elsewhere. ...Read more
What does a high RDW count 15.9, high WBC count 11.3, high neutrophil count 73.0, low lymphocyte count 20.3 mean or possibly indicate?
Nothing by itself: I've had my RDW that high just from frequent blood donations. Your absolute neutrophil count is probably high -- did you have a recent infection? A recent cold shower? As a lab specialist, I'm always reminding folks that the numbers by themselves mean nothing except in the context of the history and physical exam. If you feel well and the white cells aren't described as abnormal, don't worry. ...Read more
Had colonoscopy/endoscopy this year both clear Except for high lymphocyte count in small intestine-had colon cleanse 2day afterward had bloody mucus?
Why did you cleanse?: Your database suggests enteritis--an inflammatory condition of the small intestine (like Crohn's disease or infection, among others). Your bloody effluent after cleansing raises concern for ongoing/undertreated inflammation. Please don't cleanse again, but instead start appropriate medication for your condition--call your doctor today. ...Read more
My 3 yr old has a very high neutrophil count, very low lymphocyte count, high sed rate, low hematocrit. What could be going on with him. Repeat labs?
Infection: The shift to neutrophils and away from lymphocytes occurs during the early stages of fighting an infection or fighting a bacterial infection. The sed rate is a nonspecific marker, that could be up w/infection, or lots of other things. The low hct doesn't fit well, unless just barely out of normal. In any case, at 3 yrs old, needs close exam by pediatrics. ...Read more

I had paing in my right side yesterday and the doctor thought it may be appendicitis but my CT came back normal my white blood count was low and my lymphocyte count was high I am extremely nauseas and very tired the dr said if I felt worse today then to c
It still could be ap: It still could be appendicitis but the lymphocytes suggest maybe a viral infection. There is a well validated score system called the alvarado score which predicts the chance that your symptoms are from appendicitis. See my website for more at www. Appendicitis. Pro. Too many things to: Address. For potassium, eat a few bananas, do not worry about lymphocytes, if you take alcohol, stop to deal with sgpt; your fasting glcuose is near the pre-diabetic range, for that, lose weight, reduce carbohydrate intake and exercise at least 30 minutes each day. It would be a good idea to address all these with your doctor. ...Read more
