Dr at what time we need to start baby kicks count in pregnancy?im 24 weeks right now feeling baby almost all time near right side of belly button?

This is pass/fail: Baby kick counting is a pass/fail measure to alert you ONLY when there is a diminishment or absence to then notify your OB MD. Otherwise, you will need a computer to monitor ALL of the movements which is just not practical and you would have little time to engage in that thing called "life". ...Read more

Quickening (Definition)

Daily quickening refers to looking for approximately 10-12 kicks over about 10-12 hours. Quickening is when a pregnant woman first notices baby movements or baby kicks. First movements are felt during the second trimester, with first-time pregnant women feeling quickening later in the trimester, and the experienced women being able to feel quickening early in the trimester. A woman's doctor can tell her how many kicks per hour or per day she should feel from the baby (and when to call the doctor), at each stage of the latter ...Read more

Normal: What do you need help for? This is normal. This is common and there is nothing here to be of concern. What does your prenatal guide book say? I believe your OB would have recommended at least one book on being pregnant to read during this exciting time. That book would also have the common and normal things to expect during pregnancy. ...Read more

Very slight pain in lower left abdomen during 1st month of pregnancy. Plz help.also give some tips about how baby grow healthy in 1st trimester??

See a Provider: You need to find out if you have an ovarian cyst or an ectopic pregnancy(a pregnancy outside the uterus). See aProvider soon. A healthy pregnancy needs good nutrition, rest, and a lack of harmful drugs including tobacco. Make sure you take your prenatal vitamins as the Folic acid is important in preventing miscarriage and birth defects. ...Read more

Genetics likely: Some people have big bays some smaller. If it worries your OB doc them he or she may offer induction of labor. Some babies are best taken out of an environment that isn't good for them to thrive anymore. Discuss with your doc pros and cons of induction if your case warrants it. ...Read more

Pressure in low abdomen, an feeling PMS dizzy , balance trouble ect. been in phyche ward for this in past never helped drugs dont work help ?

Please don't take it: Uncaringly. Even if this may sound harsh, I mean it in your best interests and w/ sympathy. Please think about what you're asking. If even intense treatment modalities like ECT and In-Patient stays were unable to relieve you and if the common range of powerful psychotropic drugs didn't either, what do you think we can write in 400 chars that will? Get involved in Tx and make an effort. Follow Dr. ...Read more

Why am I feeling baby movements very low as in my pelvic region during 26th week of pregnancy? Anterior lying placenta. First pregnancy.

Why am I feeling baby movements very low as in my pelvic region during 26th week of pregnancy? Anterior lying placenta. First pregnancy.

Baby location: At 26 weeks gestation the very top of the uterus (fundal height) should be about 6 cm above your belly button. That means the baby will be laying pretty low down since you are only in the 2nd trimester. You can have your doctor verify for you at your next visit. ...Read more

Follow up visit: We can not make any determination from this information. The ultrasound last week is highly encouraging. Cramping is a fairly common complaint in early pregnancy. ...Read more

Nauseated all the time. Can't eat. Ongoing for weeks. Not pregnant. Doctor app in 1 month. Losing weight unintentionally. Feeling hot no fever.

Nauseated all the time. Can't eat. Ongoing for weeks. Not pregnant. Doctor app in 1 month. Losing weight unintentionally. Feeling hot no fever.

Needs work-up now: I would strongly recommend demanding a work-up now. It doesn't sound like you can wait another month. Why is this apt taking so long? In the worse case, you can report to an ER. I would want you to be CT scanned looking for a reason for your nausea and weight loss. I hope you can push your doctors there to do something ASAP. ...Read more

I am 20 years old, 5'6, weigh 170 pounds. I've been feeling a pulse in my belly, specially laying down, lower back pain and headache. What can it be?

Aneurysm: Your symptoms are suggestive of an abdominal aortic aneurysm and if you were 60, i'd consider it a good bet. But it would be exceptionally rare, probably unheard of, at your age. More likely you're feeling a normal aortic pulsation (best felt when lying down!) and the back pain is unrelated. The headache is a separate issue in any event! ...Read more

Weak abs - can't do a real sit-up. As belly gets bigger in pregnancy, i fear my weak abs will make moving difficult, true? Like sitting up. Advice?

Don't worry: Of course it will get gradually more difficult to move around in general as the pregnancy advances, but you abdominal wall muscles won't be permanently damaged or weakened by the pregnancy. You could develop a separation of the "six pack" muscles, called a diastasis recti, after pregnancy, but this is not dangerous, and will not affect you activities. Hope this helps and good luck! ...Read more

22 weeks pregnant and feeling baby movements sometimes at the pelvic region and cervix/vagina area. Not low lying placenta. Is it ok to feel so?

Its fine: Most of your baby's movements should be down near the pubic area since the top of the uterus is just above your belly button. Early, the baby is often times breech and you will feel love kicks. ...Read more

6cm ovarian mass bad flank pain only 3bms in 2 weeks after taking mom and it was diarrhea and 6 lb weight loss in 2 weeks am in a lot of pain, help!

6cm ovarian mass bad flank pain only 3bms in 2 weeks after taking mom and it was diarrhea and 6 lb weight loss in 2 weeks am in a lot of pain, help!

Lots of issues: It sounds like you have seen the dr already, since you know about the ovarian mass, but the lack of bms is a problem (it may be related to the ovarian mass), but that is hard to say. I would recommend doing an enema, and then magnesium citrate to try to help with bm. A 6cm mass is less likely to go away on it's own, need f/u sono/visit w/dr, ca 125 level, to see if surgery needed for the cyst. ...Read more
