BRONCHIOLITIS: Possibly he has bronchiolitis, common cause: RSV virus or other viruses. Also, acute exacerbation of asthma / new onset asthma can be a cause. Take him to the er for an evaluation and treatment. In the meantime, offer him more fluid, use humidifier in the house. Sometimes antihistamines like zyrtec can make getting secretions loose harder. Some folks feel vitamin c helps, and it likely will not hurt, but no great studies exist. Zinc lozenges may have a role.
