Other less invasive options may also be considered, including a rigid gas-permeable contact lens (rgp) and laser surgery to remove superficial scar tissue (ptk). Yes: Yes definitely. A contact lens acts in a way like a bandage and often feels more comfortable while on. Then when the lens is removed the eye is often more uncomfortable since the corneal surface is exposed. In this way a CL is a double edged sword as it may mask pain signifying damage to the cornea.
