Urgent care or ER: If the area was white, cold and stiff or hard and if it then becomes red and swollen as it warms, you need to seek professional medical assistance. Usually the area will form blisters and permanent "bruising" or skin discoloration, which indicates long-term damage and possible destruction of blood vessels. Get it seen asap. Part of it...: All those symptoms are associated with an apparent infection you are dealing with. You don't necessarily have to get a fever but just a sensation of malaise, chills and warmth even when temp. Is normal. If you have not been seen I suggest you do so in order to get diagnosed and treated. If already seen follow up recommendations, rest and drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. ...Read more
