Eye and fAce swellin: It is hard to tell what is going on with your limited description of what you had done. Was your maxilla or orbit broken and fixed? Maybe first be sure: You are dealing with poison ivy. But if you are certain then cold compresses may help...But usually you also need anithistamine pills. The itching and swelling can get pretty annoying. See a dr if it isn't getting better.

Swelling around eyes: Swelling around eyes can be due to many issue: clogged eyelash glands (meibomian glands); allergies; excess salt (be sure kidney function is normal); genetics (got it from mom or dad); excess rubbing (shiners); aging changes. Options: Keep head of be elevated for the first week or so after surgery - sleeping in a recliner is ideal. Icing for the first few days is also helpful. Herbal supplements (e.g. Arnica montana) may be of benefit. In case of more severe swelling your doctor may prescribe a short course of oral steroid medication (e.g. Medrol (methylprednisolone) dosepak).See 3 more doctor answers
Head elevation and..: Cold compresses on the eyes. I am not a fan of ice or frozen peas, but a washcloth soaked in cold water and wrung out will work just fine. The blood supply to the eyelids is excellent, so while they quickly swell, they will also quickly resolve with the treatments above.See 2 more doctor answers
