There is some ooze coming from my gum on the side where I had my wisdom tooth removed. That was 6 weeks ago. Am I getting an abscess?
Residual infection?: After 6 weeks the extraction site should be 95% healed. Residual infection from the surgery is possible and I believe you asked an earlier question about your lip being swollen which likely is being caused by that as well. Go back to the doc or surgeon who removed your wisdom tooth to have the area checked and if infection is confirmed you will need antibiotics to help it heal. ...Read more

I had a wisdom tooth removed on tues at 10 30am. It was a quik simple removal. Now the gum tissue has grown over the hole im just left wit a lil hole?
Hole will close: What you are describing sounds like an expected healing: first, there will be blood-filled hole, then gums start growing over the hole. Underneath the growing healing gums, the 'socket' --a hole in bone left after the tooth is gone--starts healing. The hole in the bone will be gradually filled with new bone cells. Isn't the body amazing? After extraction, it is a good idea to have a post-op check. ...Read more
