My throat is very red & my tonsils look veiny, also my throat stings when I swallow. I'm 18, what can this be in freaking out?

A swollen tonsil: A unilateral swollen tonsil may be indicative of a unilateral infection. If it remains swollen for at least 2 to 3 weeks more I would see your primary care physician to establish a cause.
