Possibly: Redness under the eyes of a small child could be many issues. The most common would be allergies or any other source of eye irritation leading to chronic rubbing. Depends: There are a variety of reasons your eyes may be red and eyelids puffy upon awakening. Allergies come to mind at the top of the list. Dry eyes, nocturnal lagophthalmos, infection, medications, poor sleep or short sleep duration, are amoung the other causes. So it depends on cause and symptoms.
