Small white stringy pieces in my urine, both peeing in a cup and in toilet. Look like strings / ghosts. What are they?? Urine color normal, no burn.
See answer: Probable mucus threads. In small amounts, often normal and sometimes more or less visible depending on the pH or concentration of the urine. May also be commonly seen with asymptomatic bacteriuria (bacterial colonization of urine) or contamination of urine with vaginal secretions especially if around the time of ovulation or with vaginal infection/irrigation. Urinalysis and urine culture helpful. ...Read more
Do black specs(like tiny pepper flakes) in the stool indicate blood even when the stool in a normal brown color?
Nah: Significant blood loss (more than 3-4 ounces of blood), especially from upper sources, e.g. Stomach, duodenum , small bowel, less likely from right colon, can give black, tarry stol, with a typically characteristic odor, often loose (blood is a laxative):melena (black). Entire stool would be black, not just individual spots. Likely from food, seeds. Iron pills, pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) can do also. ...Read more

Can microscopic blood in urine form a pink ring around around the urine stain once the urine dries?
Here are some...: Microhematuria (RBCs seen under microscope) will not stain clothes as noticed after drying. The phenomenon most likely represents the stain of concentrated urine (like Sp Gr >1.015). Nonetheless, do not worry for now but do urinalysis from properly collected fresh urine and see what it may be. Dark red blood when I go poop mixed in and falling from inside of the butt. Thin red worm looking things on toilet paper. Suggestions?
Yikes!: Are the thin red worm-looking things moving? You are bleeding from your colon. This could be an infection, or the beginnings of inflammatory bowel disease. Get care *immediately.* You need comprehensive lab work (CBC-d, autoimmune & coag panel, LFTs, stool culture & microscopy), preliminary imaging & most likely a colonoscopy. Practice thorough hand washing & check for similar symptoms in family. ...Read more
In hostel, pink stains in bowls of all common toilets
Noticed pink ring around dried urine puddle on floor.
same reason as stains in bowl(bacteria?)?
Hmmm...: One cannot think too much into pink rings around people's dried urine puddles. Just presume toilet areas are a mess, full of poop germs. That means, if it's your toilet, clean it; if it's not your toilet, get in and out as fast as you can. If spending more any more than 1 minute thinking about toilet stains, one's problem is probably not the toilet stains. ...Read more

Other factors including dehydration, crystals in urine, dissolved "salts" (eg, sodium) may affect the density of urine. Urine is darker if you're dehydrated or have jaundice or blood in the urine. If this occurs repeatedly or if you have other symptoms, please see a doctor. Dr. Anne. ...Read more

Hello! I've noticed dark brown/black-ish colored flecks in my (clear) urine. They are thin and flat, and sink to the bottom of the toilet. Help??
You need an exam: In a woman, these could be small vaginal blood clots. Could be "products of conception". Unless something has been introduced into your bladder, I really can't think of anything else that could behave this way. You need a pelvic exam and a urinalysis and a pregnancy test.. ...Read more
