Red Spots On Scalp Not Itchy
I have red spots on my scalp. It isn't itchy or flaky but it is slightly sore. I've never had a problem like this before. What do you think it is?
Scalp is the part of the skin on the skull, deeply attached to the skull and has the hair shafts from it. Rest of the skin in the head like facial skin (beard) has only 2 layers -epidermis and dermis. Scalp has 5 different layers unlike facial skin/rest of skin all over body. Scalp-s-epidermis, c-conn. Tissue, a-aponeurosis, l-loose areolar conn. Tissue and p- pericranium attached ...Read more
There are few red spots on my scalp, which makes my scalp very itchy. How to cure it permanently? Thank you
A few causes: Itchy scalp spots can be many things. I would try some anti-dandruff shampoo 3-5 time per week for a couple weeks, and if that doesn't help, then see a doctor. Sometimes, this kind of problem needs a doctors evaluation. Other things this could be include tinea capitis (fungal infection), psoriasis, discoid lupus, lichen planopilaris, early alopecia areata among many others. Get it checked out. ...Read more

Very itchy scalp, flaking, red spots from scratching, feels like crawling on head (and body a little). Just started yesterday.
I have itchy red spots on my scalp and also have flaking skin coming off my head. I use biolage shampoo and conditioner... What do I do?
Depends: Your condition may be seborreic dermatitis or scalp psoriasis. These conditions are at either end of the spectrum and psoriasis is generally more severe w silvery scale and redness. Both conditions do best with rx shampoo like clobetasol to reduce inflammation. If its seb derm, an rx anti fungal shampoo is also good. Otc zinc or selenium shampoo are good but rx are better. ...Read more

Rashes and sores:
Skin is very difficult to treat by description or email.
But, given the great staph epidemic in our country I would advise you to get this seen by an expert sooner than later.
This could be just a reaction to some exposure or an infection that is spreading.

I have flat dark red spots under my chin. They are in a cluster. They aren't itchy but have been here for two days. What are they?
May be shingles: Difficult to say with that description but if in a cluster it could be the early signs of shingles. Shingles typically occurs in a cluster, may be itchy, slightly tingly in the area or no symptoms at all. They tend to evolve over a few days to form blisters. Earliest diagnosis and treatment is critical so it's best to have a dermatologist take a look ASAP. ...Read more
I have been getting multiple red spots that look like some form of bite, really itchy, all have come up with scabs, what could they be?
Bug bite? Infection?: Bumps on separate parts of the body may be bug bites and/or may be small boils (skin infections; small abscesses). A visit to one's primary care doctor is needed, as bumps are very hard to describe in words. Antibiotics may be needed, if there are signs of infection. Others causes of bumps are possible, but less likely. If the bumps are mysterious-looking, a dermatologist can examine them. ...Read more

My husband has multiple light red spots on his back, not itchy, not raised. We noticed it after he showered. Should we be concerned?
Concerned enough: You should be concerned enough to have your doctor take a look at it, diagnose and treat it if necessary.
