Stye or a Chalazion: More often than not the red spot is a stye or a chalazion! they can burst and have yellow stringy stuff come out and it may be infected. My suggestion is start warm compresses to the lids 10 minutes at a time, twice daily and see your ophthalmologist soon. Read more

Black spot on lower inner eyelid. It is only visible when I pull the lower eyelid down. What could it be? No pain or irritation.

Have it checked: While many pigment spots on the eyelid or inner conjunctiva tissue can be benign or safe, some, just like changes anywhere on the skin, can be serious and need treatment. Best to have it examined by an eye MD & get some photos so the area can be compared over time if that's necessary too. Also, protect the eyes from ultraviolet damage & risks by using quality UV protection sunglasses. Read more

Unclear: It is unclear but may be a small gland infection. I would wait and see as this does not appear to be serious as yet from what you have said. I would not wear makeup until this has settled down as this can sometimes aggravate eye problems. Read more

What could a Bubbly bump on top of my iris with red spot around it creating a stye on inside of my eyelid be? Could I have something stuck in my eye?

Unlikely: I assume only the eyelid is involved and mention of the iris is only for localizing. Having a stye on the inside of the lid can be quite uncomfortable since it seems to poke the eye. Try applying warm soaks several times a day. Antibiotics are not always necessary. Read more

I have a small red painless bump in my lower eyelid margin (kind of the crease of the eyelid) for almost 2 months. What could it be?

Many things: There are many conditions that can appear on the eyelid margin. It is impossible to diagnose without examination under a slit lamp microscope by an ophthalmologist. Eyelid styes, papillomas, blepharitis, even skin cancers can occur on the eyelid. If this bump is new, than you need to be examined by an ophthalmologist to determine the diagnosis and then further treatment. Good luck! Read more
