Big toe: This sounds like the progression of an ingrown nail . See your podiatrist as you will have a full blown infection eventually. Soaking in just warm water really won't help . Trauma: I hope that it is from wearing athletic shoes that are too lose and starting to exercise rather than wearing new shoes that are too short. Look at your feet. Your sore toes are also the longest ones. Figure out what you are doing that makes them sore and change it.
