Microfracture left knee on Monday. Noticing my left calf is quite sore tonight. No heat or redness. Scared of blood clots. I am only 25% wb on leg?

Sciatic like pain stiff sore knee.No visible redness/swelling.When to worry about fluid on knee or something bad?Just saw dr for calf pain.blood fine.

Don't worry: I would not worry so much as just that you might want to be seen for a specific diagnosis and treatment options. As you mentioned, it can be a variation of a sciatica, which is leg pain caused by an irritation if a nerve in the back; or it can be from something in the leg itself. A detailed exam and appropriate studies will likely yield the correct diagnosis. ...Read more

2wks ago sudden sore lump under skin on calf. Skin is red also. Not as sore today. No visible bite mark, could it be soft tissue tumor?

2wks ago sudden sore lump under skin on calf. Skin is red also. Not as sore today. No visible bite mark, could it be soft tissue tumor?

Not tumor: Soft tissue sarcomas are more common in thigh region then just under skin in area of calf. The redness suggests inflammation and pain in the area not uncommon with inflammation such as secondary to some bite or phlebitis in vein just under skin of area. A sarcoma would not start denovo with associated pain that then regresses in short period of time. If clinical dx indeterminate then bx needed. ...Read more

Consistent right inner calf pain for 3 days. Tender touch. No swelling/redness. Negative ultrasound. Could this still be a clot? Doesn't feel muscular

Calf is achey. History of sciatica. The arch of foot seems to be collapsing with weigh. A little tender to touch. No swelling, heat, or redness. Cause?

Calf is achey. History of sciatica. The arch of foot seems to be collapsing with weigh. A little tender to touch. No swelling, heat, or redness. Cause?

Its All Related: Back is related to how the arch fell in your foot resulting in knee joints changing position that results in hip issues then translating to stress in your spine resulting in pieced nerves causing your sciatica. Thats said, likely improving your arch with support/orthotic will help reduce the back pain. Remember this will not happen overnight but will take time and your feet will hurt initially. ...Read more

I got a couple small cuts on the front of my thigh. Are bruising, a small amount of redness, and leg soreness normal?

I got a couple small cuts on the front of my thigh. Are bruising, a small amount of redness, and leg soreness normal?

Can be: This can be tricky because soreness and redness are characteristics of both recent trauma and infection. I would monitor the area to make sure that it isn't getting worse. Increasing erythema (redness), pain, edema (swelling) and or induration (hardening) of the skin are signs of infection that should be evaluated. I hope this helps. ...Read more
