Needs to be checked: It is very hard to say what is causing itchy palms;red bumpy finger tips.It may be due to a viral infection, contact dermatitis or some other cause. I suggest you get her checked by your family doctor or pediatrician. Does she have bumps on her feet, bumps/sores in mouth.Those parts also needs to be checked and rest of the body as well including temperature. ...Read more

Pus, fever, swelling: The presence of PUS (dead white cells) after an injury (as in your son's case) is likely the most significant & specific bedside sign that a bacterial infection is present. Fever & painful swelling are others. Redness itself is not necessarily a guarantee of infection but it's one of the first things that happens on the way to an infection. Got pics? Not likely infection: Trigger finger is more common (especially in the dominant hand) in a healthy individual with no history of trauma, no redness, swelling. There is often a mass that can be felt and move with flexing and extending of the finger. If infection is present a present usually doesn't tolerate moving the finger. Trust your physician.
