Red Ring Shaped Rash (Overview)

A red ring-shaped rash may be a sign of a fungal skin infection called ringworm. The rash of ringworm begins as a small area of red, raised spots and pimples. The rash slowly becomes ring-shaped, with a red-colored, raised border and a clearer center. The border may look scaly. Nummular eczema rashes have a similar appearance.

Wish I had picture!: Dermatology questions are so hard without seeing the rash! round rash with central clearing usually are from fungus commonly known as ringworm. Is anybody else have it? Ringworm is itchy and you didn't mention that. I'm curious what you have tried to treat it and if u r using any new soaps or creams. Your description: applies to a number of skin problems but I would "vote for" FUNGAL cause. Sometimes SPECIFIC TREATMENT and sometimes ORAL ANTI-FUNGALS are indicated!
