I have a red swollen itchy rash on my left side of my stomach and it hurts to the touch ?

I have a red swollen itchy rash on my left side of my stomach and it hurts to the touch ?

Is it shingles ?: Need a picture or a physical exam to begin to guess what it is. If you have a group of blisters located only on one side and it's both itchy and painful, shingles is one possibility . Very important to see a doctor within the first 48 hours! Go asap! ...Read more

Stretch marks?: Aka striae= scarring on the skin with an off-color hue, caused by tearing of the skin, which over time may diminish, but will not disappear completely. Often associated with rapid growth/ weight changes. And may be influenced by hormonal changes associated with puberty, pregnancy, bodybuilding, hormone replacement therapy, cushing syndrome etc..I suggest consulting doc for eval. Good luck. ...Read more

Many possibilities: If it's symmetrical it likely has an internal cause, such as eczema or a virus. If not symmetrical it more likely has an external cause, such as an allergy to something you have contacted. Try an otc Hydrocortisone cream, and if that does not help see your doctor or a dermatologist for a precise diagnosis and more specific treatment. ...Read more

The reactivation can occur under times of stress. The rash will follow a "dermatome" which is the nerve root pattern. ...Read more
