Enlarging cyst: A moveable lump in left armpit not nodal in origin. Most likely skin appendage. Common source is an enlarging sebaceous cyst filled with necrotic sebaceous material. At times a sweat gland tumor can look this way. Have lesion checked to see if it is cystic and if so the lesion with capsule must be removed by excision. If not cyst then evaluation as to need for bx must be made. ...Read more

Sounds like a cyst: This sounds like a sebaceous or epidermal inclusion cyst. They are common. The biggest problem with them is they can become infected. Not really: Cancer in the armpit essentially represents metastasis to the lymph nodes high up near the axillary vein. They are for the most part painless and would not be associated with redness. Rather one would expect inflammation of the sweat glands right under the skin for which warm soaks and possibly antibiotics would be effective. ...Read more

Hard on the outside red lump in left armpit, 16 yrs old, been there for 4/5 months, sometime painful. Saw 3 doctors none are to sure what it is. Ideas?

Axillary adenopathy: A single isolated enlarged lymph node would be the most likely finding, but to be certain it may have to be biopsied. Cat scratch disease is a common cause of this, as are other infectious disorders. If you have been seen by 3 docs without a diagnosis, suggest you see an infectious diseases expert. Fatigue: I would first ask how long you have been feeling fatigued. Also have you had any weight loss or loss of appetite.
