Hemangioma: Most likely, it is small blood vessel growth called a hemangioma. It isn't dangerous but won't go away on its own. You'll need to see your dermatologist to get it treated.

Little red mark on my forehead, no pain or itching. Reasons?

Without seeing it: In person, it would be difficult to diagnose. Take a picture of it and if it gets worse or you are worried, see a dermatologist.

No other bruises?: If there are no other bruises nor little blood spots to suggest a problem of bruising-easily or bleeding-easily, and if a child just came back from an lumbar puncture, one possible explanation is that the clinicians had to hold a child tightly in order to safely do a lumbar puncture; which can explain fingerprints or handprints. They don't want a little kid to move at all during a lumbar puncture.

Spider angioma: Sounds like a vascular lesion such as spider angiomas or broken blood vessels. This can be treated with lasers or electrocautery.

Pain in forehead: It is difficult to give you guidance with limited information. Pain in the forehead can be related to a headache, could be related to pressure from sleeping on the area, or could be related to something going on the sinuses. You can ask for again with more detailed information, but my suggestion would be to see your primary doctor for evaluation.

Hello Doc. I have a red mark in the middle of my forehead, that appears randomly and goes by the end of the day or the next day and not sure why it is?

Hello Doc. I have a red mark in the middle of my forehead, that appears randomly and goes by the end of the day or the next day and not sure why it is?

This is not terribly: Unusual....it likely is a form of stress response. When your body feels threat or fear, blood vessels dilate to enable you to "fight or flee." You may have a small collection of blood vessels just under the skin of your forehead that engorge with blood under these conditions. I think this is more likely than hives/allergic reaction as it seems to be solitary. I wouldn't worry. Stay well:)

I have developed a rose red spot on my forehead left side. Painless but annoying. What to do?

See doctor: Your doctor should take a look at the red spot to examine it for size and involvement of adjacent skin, to make sure it is not concerning. Your doctor may need to refer you to a facial plastic surgeon or dermatologist to biopsy, excise/remove, or laser the lesion as they deem appropriate.

Large red spot under skin on forehead when nervous or hot. Forms as the same shape each time and also appears when blood rushes to forehead. Any idea?

Nevus flammeus: What you describe is a vascular birthmark. It is due to a congenital (since birth) malformation of capillaries (small blood vessels) under the skin. These usually fade or become less obvious with age but can persist. The redness becomes more obvious with increase blood flow to the area. Treatment is only needed for cosmetic reasons. The pulse dye or vascular laser is the preferred way to treat.

I have a small, smooth, square red spot on my forehead. I notice it gets redder, but then goes back to a pink color. Is it a mole or cancerous?

I have a small, smooth, square red spot on my forehead. I notice it gets redder, but then goes back to a pink color. Is it a mole or cancerous?

Likely hemangioma: Likely it is a small hemangioma- which is a benign tumor of the blood vessel. It can get redder if the circulation on that area increased- for instance after coughing, getting upset etc- and will go back to pink when blood flow gets back to normal again. However, nothing can substitute clinical examination- ask your primary care doctor to check it out. Does not sound like a mole.

Purple/red spot on my nose and multiple spots accumulating on my forehead after a week of hot showers. What should I do?

Purple/red spot on my nose and multiple spots accumulating on my forehead after a week of hot showers. What should I do?

There are many: Potential causes for the dermatological findings you describe. It might be as simple as taking cooler showers but it is impossible to diagnose skin ailments over the internet without being able to see the specific problem. If these spots continue, you should see a health care provider in order to get an accurate evaluation, diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

I have a flat, red spot on my forehead --pencil eraser size that totally disappears and then comes back. I'm breastfeeding. Freckle-hormone related?

Possible hemangioma: It could be a small collection of blood vessels. They can wax and wane depending on how warm you are and various other factors. Not dangerous.

Pediatrician: This type of reaction to a facial bite is quite concerning and must be evaluated by your pediatrician or emergency room physician as soon as possible. Facial infection, if present, must be treated promptly and appropriately. Hopefully this is just a pronounced allergic reaction to the bite, but infection must be checked for.

Should resolve: This should gradually get better. You might try using some aloe containing lotion or a topical antibiotic ointment, but it is going to take some time to go away entirely.
