I have a red spot in my lower eyelid. Now i see a little white stringy fluid around it. Should i be worried? Should i just let it pass?

Stye or a Chalazion : More often than not the red spot is a stye or a chalazion! they can burst and have yellow stringy stuff come out and it may be infected. My suggestion is start warm compresses to the lids 10 minutes at a time, twice daily and see your ophthalmologist soon. ...Read more

Yes: Given the timing of the symptoms, most likely it is a stye and not a chalazion. Continue using wash compresses as much as possible. It the pain or swelling worsens, then a topical or oral antibiotic may be required. ...Read more
