My daughter has a skin irritation/rash around her face when she eats certain food not sure what it is ava age 3, healthy
no known allergies so far
immunizations up to date?
Thinking it might be red dye #40?
Rash: This could simply be a basic irritant dermatitis due to little ones getting as much food on their face as they get in their mouth. And the food can irritate the skin. Also, kids will lick around the mouth, causing irritation. See the pediatrician for evaluation or a dermatologist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Allergies occur when your immune system is triggered by envirionmental factors it should ignore--for example, pollen in the air, or dander on a cat or dog--and creates cells to fight against them. An allergic reaction typically causes itching, congestion, or drainage, and ...Read more

If food allergy prick test is negative (mild redness) and blood rast test negative is it mean you are not allergic to foods? So y get reaction to foods
Not 100%: If both tests are negative, the chance of being allergic to that food is very very small. However when the history of a food allergy is strong, and the tests were negative, i often ask the patient to bring in the fresh food for the testing instead of relying on commercial food extracts. If the person is still quite concerned over it a challenge test can be done at the office. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Beware that allergy: is simply a label for behavioral response. Pretense is that someone else (Doc, etc.) really understands what is happening when actually just repeating the clients complaints//descriptions of behavior(s), using different words/diagnostic-labels, while promoting theories to justify low-level theories aimed at justifying what is being promoted/sold. Best don't miss bigger issues & internal controls. ...Read more
Can environmental allergies (food, pollen, dust mites, contrast dye, penicillin) cause a high positive ANA?
I have seen this: While the +ANA is suggestive of SLE there can be other causes - other connective tissue disease, autoimmune thyroid disease, auto immune hepatitis to name some. I have seen a lot of people with + ANAs who only have as another problem a history of allergic reactions and I am convinced that thee allergic reactions can cause a + ANA. Everyone can have very low titters (amount) of ANA. ...Read more

I just got home from a camping trip and i noticed red blotches all over my body. I think it is from a food allergy but they do not itch at all. ?
Not necessarily: Red blotches, medically called urticaria, may or may not be related to allergy. After camping, the commonest causes are allergy to plants or insect stings. Unless you have other symptoms, such as feeling ill or running a fever, i would take an antihistamine such as fexofenadine or Cetirizine (over the counter). If not gone within a few days or having other symptoms, then see a physician. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Maybe: If you recently added a new food to his or her diet then i would be suspicious of a food allergy.
