Is a red ear an indication of an ear infection?

Is a red ear an indication of an ear infection?

Where's the red?: The majority of ear infections children get will involve the middle ear. A doctor has to use an otoscope to diagnose them. The ear drum will be red and bulging with fluid behind it. The ear canal can also become infected, but still requires an otoscope to view. The ear lobe and auricle or visualised outside ear being red usually has nothing to do with the common ear infections seen in children.

Vasodilation: I do not know of any correlation between bright red ear lobes and hypertension. It sounds like he is having a transient vasodilation involving his ears lobes (blood flow gets increased to this area). If he really has no other symptoms, I would not be too concerned about it at this point.

I have a ringing in ear and red ear wax. Help please can't afford to see a doctor?

Try hydrogen peroxid: It is possible that impacted ear wax can cause blockage of the ear canal and occasionally tinnitus (ringing). If you can not afford to see a doctor, which, is truly the best thing you could do, then try 3% hydrogen peroxide 4 times a day for 7 days in the ear canal. This treatment should liquefy the wax and then gentle irrigation with warm water should help. Try emergency room doctor.

I got told that my son had a red ear and red throat buy my gp and also infected eczema today when I took him there his temp was 38.4?

Likely infections: Many youngsters have red throats and red ears from infections (both virus and bacteria germs). The eczema infection is likely to be from a bacteria germ. The doctor should have decided whether s/he thinks that one or both of the infections requires treatment with antibiotics. Having fever often pushes doctors to prescribe antibiotics, especially in younger children..

My child's ears show redness, is this a sign of inflammation?

no: The skin on the ears is very thin, so this is one of the first areas that will show flushing or blushing. Things that can cause this appearance include crying, feeding, or temperature changes. Therefore, this does not typically indicate inflammation.

Slept on it: That is the cartilage part of the ear very sensitive to any pressure if you slept on it and kept extra pressure on the cartilage it will be painful. Apply heat pad on the area. If the pain does not go away see a doctor.
