Red Ear Syndrome In Children
Clogged ear, went to dr wednesday she said looked really red (ear infx). ear feels better better never used drop yet. Should I use drops? ?
If it has cleared: On its own, then no need to use antibiotic drops
I have a red ear when I get hot or my ear is knocked. It goes bright red and boiling. Also whenever my ears are hot a black discharge appears on them.
Don't know why: Your symptoms do not lead to an easy answer. Suggest ENT exam.
Red ear drum: It looks red when you look in the ear with an otoscope.
Where's the red?: The majority of ear infections children get will involve the middle ear. A doctor has to use an otoscope to diagnose them. The ear drum will be red and bulging with fluid behind it. The ear canal can also become infected, but still requires an otoscope to view. The ear lobe and auricle or visualised outside ear being red usually has nothing to do with the common ear infections seen in children.
My 2 year old son has intermittent bilateral bright red ear lobes that are very hot to the touch. Should I be concerned? A neighbor suggested htn?
Vasodilation: I do not know of any correlation between bright red ear lobes and hypertension. It sounds like he is having a transient vasodilation involving his ears lobes (blood flow gets increased to this area). If he really has no other symptoms, I would not be too concerned about it at this point.See 1 more doctor answer
Cerumen: You may consider an examination of your ear canals by a board certified otolaryngologist
Try hydrogen peroxid: It is possible that impacted ear wax can cause blockage of the ear canal and occasionally tinnitus (ringing). If you can not afford to see a doctor, which, is truly the best thing you could do, then try 3% hydrogen peroxide 4 times a day for 7 days in the ear canal. This treatment should liquefy the wax and then gentle irrigation with warm water should help. Try emergency room doctor.
I got told that my son had a red ear and red throat buy my gp and also infected eczema today when I took him there his temp was 38.4?
Likely infections: Many youngsters have red throats and red ears from infections (both virus and bacteria germs). The eczema infection is likely to be from a bacteria germ. The doctor should have decided whether s/he thinks that one or both of the infections requires treatment with antibiotics. Having fever often pushes doctors to prescribe antibiotics, especially in younger children..See 1 more doctor answer
Possibly infected.: Possibly a reaction to the metal in the post. High ear piercings through cartilage have ^ risk of infection ; lack of healing because of minimal blood supply to auricular cartilage. You can develop a perichondral abscess as well auricular perichondritis. If you ear is hot, red, swollen or has increasing pain you need medical evaluation. 1 study showed complications in up to 35% of people w >.See 1 more doctor answer
Found a pea sized hard knot behind left ear (almost touching ear) only slightly painful when touches, no redness or fluid or anything, just the knot?
Lymph node or cyst: This is probably a lymph node behind your ear, or it can also be a cyst. Keep close attention to it in the next few days, if it does not go away, have your primary doctor check it.
I have like a circle shape of redness on the right side of my head. Just above my ear. It doesn't itch, or hurt, and it's not really bumpy. What is it?
Don't know: Can’t diagnose with available information. Examination, history & possibly other testing would be needed to make an accurate diagnosis. Treatment would be dictated by diagnosis.
