Am I able to consume clear protein drinks (containing no juice, fibre or carbs) the day before my colonoscopy? Also, is red cranberry juice ok? Thanks
INSTRUCTIONS....do not "improvise"!!! and Cranberry juice is a DEFINITE NO NO (Coloring can alter the appearance of the bowel lining!) Your so called "Protein Drinks" probably have a RESIDUAL (matter which also may obscure the details of the lining or hide very small polyps!!!)
Good Luck and BE WELL!
Hope this helps!

I drank cranberry juice for the first time 4 days ago, 2 days after I had a patch of hives appear on my abdomen that are itchy, red and painful. Help!
Hives: Very unlikely it was due to the cranberry juice because of the timing of the reaction and the fact that you had never had it before. This is likely due to a contact reaction to something that made contact with your skin. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or other OTC antihistamines should help. ...Read more

Yes, go see doctor: Possible causes of these symptoms include yeast infection, genital herpes, other infections, allergies, and more. Cranberry juice won't help any of these, and the treatment is different for all of them. There's no way to know what you have without professional evaluation. See a doctor soon. Does cranberry juice and yogurt really help w pregnancy yeast infection? I am 2 months and im guessing I have a mild case of yeast infection I don't have the redness nor the itchyness nothing major I just have this uncomfortable discharge always wet, is I
Any discharge during pregnancy that is "uncomfortable" should be brought to the attention of your ob/gyn. If it is in fact yeast then it will need to be treated with prescription strength medication. The issue here is that a concrete diagnosis needs to be made since you are pregnant. Infection can be harmful while pregnant if untreated. Lastly cranberry juice does not cure yeast infections, and in large amounts will only raise your blood suga, r which should be avoided during pregnancy.
If in doubt don't hesitate to contact your ob/gyn!
congrats on your pregnancy and good luck. ...Read more
