I have a painful red bump on my vaginal area. It's on the left side and is closer to the top of my pelvic area. What could it be?
Cyst: The most common painful red bump in the vagina are bartholin gland cysts (these are when a duct that normally drains into the vagina gets blocked and can fill up with fluid and pus. Sometimes a red bump is an infected hair follicle on the vulva, and sometimes it's HPV wart or even herpes. Unfortunately, difficult to diagnose over the internet, so best if you see a doctor and have it looked at. ...Read more

I have a red bump in my vaginal area but I do not think it is an STI but I have the same symptoms as an STI, it burns. Any idea what it is or can be ?
Get checked for STI: Not many STIs would start as a single red bump, but herpes might be a possibility. You don't say what other symptoms you have that seem to be "the same symptoms as an STI" -- and obviously STIs are on your mind, which implies you are sexually active and possibly at risk. Therefore, you should be examined and tested for STIs. Do it ASAP. Good luck! ...Read more

Lip rash: Lips have small glands in them just like other parts of the skin that keep the skin soft. I am finding red bumps that seem to resemble a pimple or an ingrown hair, on my vaginal area. They do not itch. What is this and is it normal?
Molluscum: These may be molluscum contagious, a wart like infection which can be transmitted sexually. Hello, I recently have shaved my bikini area and now have red bumps in between the hairs that I shaved, the do not itch or burn and they are not sore, is there a chance they are an std or are stds more in the vaginal area and not in the pubic area?
STD unlikely : Ingrown hairs are common in the pubic area, created by shaving or the friction from underwear. They can appear as pimple like bumps. Applying warm compresses and washing twice daily with a warm soapy washcloth should help the site drain and heal faster. See your doctor if symptoms do not improve with these measures. Simple inflammation of the follicles may also be the issue. ...Read more

I believe I have a vaginal yeast infection. My anus is now itchy and has small red bumps around it. Has it spread? What can I do?
My doctor told me I have a very mild case of hsv2, but i can never tell if I am having an outbreak. Two red bumps appeared on my vaginal lips.
Herpes: I am not sure of the language you ascribe to your physician, but one either has herpes or one does not have herpes. There is no such thing as a 'mild' infection. New studies have now taught us that 90% of those with herpes type two never have outbreaks. But, contagiousness, a concept known as 'viral shedding' can occur whether one has sores or not. ...Read more
