what are some remedies for stiffness? I currently have a stiff neck, ankle and knee from a combination of working out and looking down at my textbook
Hot water: Definitely! The Japanese knew about this centuries ago - hence their tradition of onsen. A hot bath or shower will do wonders! Of course rest and stretching of tired muscles even with some massage thrown in can do wonders. Best to 'listen' to your body... Pain is the language it uses to tell you 'stop doing' this or that. Neck Pain: Arthritic symptoms typically cause stiffness with inactivity that seems to loosen up as the day gets rolling. Don't waste money, but trying a couple different pillows could help. Neck pain in young: Based upon your age, serious problems are very unlikely without trauma. I would suspect you are feeling muscle aches or pains. Less likely is a disc herniation. Without further studies, only able to guess. Nonetheless, exact diagnosis not necessary to treat. Try some tylenol/nsaid's, ice/heat, salonpas hot patches.
