Recurring Itchy Back
Red itchy bumpy rash stared on neck spreading down back and middle of arms now on face burning up?
For past few months recurring rash on ring finger. Starts itchy / burning & red w bumps that when popped have clear liquid. Keeps coming back. Help?
Allergy/irritant: Two possibilities come to mind: (a) soap or detergent got trapped in the ring causing the irritation (b) you have become allergic to the metal in the ring. Stop wearing your ring for a week to see if this helps. The next step would be finding out whether it's the detergent (take ring off when washing) or the ring metal. See allergist/derm to detect which metal you are allergic to for the latter. ...Read more

May be fungus/yeast: It is very difficult to diagnose any kind of rash in genital area without looking at it. My guess is that it is a fungus or yeast infection. Try any antifungal like Monistat-derm. Follow the directions of using it properly and if not better in a week, see a Dermatologist if you can or see a family doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Recurring 3-8 months itchy bump butt crack/tailbone when wipe to keep dry painful, use hydrocortisone/lotrimin 2-4 week gone but returns what could be?
Hard to say: Your cream contains both a cortisone (which nonspecifically suppresses inflammation even from an infection) and an anti-fungal. Thus it is hard to tell as to which ingredient had worked for you. If this problem keeps on returning, it'd be wise to ask your doctor to check this out for you. ...Read more
Red pimple like bumps on my left inner thigh in crotch area. Painless and not itchy. If popped pus comes out.I have genital HSV 1. They wont go away?
Folliculitis?: This sounds most like folliculitis, or some other bacteria infection. Almost certainly not herpes -- both the symptoms (pus if popped) and location are wrong. And I'll bet this doesn't look much like your previous genital herpes outbreak(s), right? Anyway, see a doctor and take it from there. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I've had dry, scabby from scratching , itchy back of the knees for a year now, I don't know what it could be and the skin is red and darkened & bumpy?
TryThisForTwoWeeks: After a year of dryness and scratching I can assume it's a mess back there. That's a common place for eczema-like rashes and there are a few ways to beat it.At this point you should consider a dermatologist to sort it out. But if you're short of time and cash start by using a moisturizing cream that contains lanolin and a mild topical steroid like 1% Hydrocortisone cream. Use each three times a day ...Read more

Mam has an itchy back. There are tiny red spots on her shoulder blades and the bottom of her back. She is 86. Could it be serious.
Honestly without: seeing your mom I can't be sure. If you are worried and these spots are relatively new, see a dermatolgoist. If they are cherry angiomas which are tiny pink papules (bright red pinpoint dots) those are benign, but i would see a doctor to be sure. Hope that helps ...Read more

My five year old son has been complaining about an itchy back for months. Lotions, oil, even rooibos tea seem to help in the short term. No allergies?
Itchy back: If he has dry skin then he may have eczema which means you have to moisturize the skin regularly in order to control dryness and itchyness and flare ups of rash. He also may get itchy back from sweating, and the effects of artificial fabrics or wool clothing-try to but plain cotton shirts and rinse out detergents well. I wouldn't necessarily attribute allergies as a cause unless he has hives. ...Read more
I get an itchy back frequently with pink/red spots like unraised pimples. What is this how to fix?
Urticaria : Studies show people with allergies and hypersensitivity can develop hives on their back in response to an allergen , possibly in your detergent, possibly in the environment. I advise allergy testing and a full medical exam with your physician. Take a pregnancy test and try Benadryl, an over the counter antihistamine, to try to alleviate your itching and apply 1% hydrocortisone. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Not the biotin: biotin is used to help with hair loss and nail growth as well as some skin conditions. It should not cause back acne or rashes unless you are allergic to it.
