Pain in the anus with a bowel movement is usually due to an anal fissure, with sharp tearing pain during a bm , and variable spasm pain after the bm. Prob not: Probably not. Usually pain with a bowel movement is the result of either an anal fissure or external hemorrhoid. Neither one is dangerous and both are easily treated. Diverticulitis will usually give a patient fever and abdominal pain. The pain is more constant in nature. Could be: Fissures are usually associated with pain during and after a bm. Your symptoms could very well be secondary to hemorrhoids. You would need an anorectal exam to identify the source and differentiate the 2.
