I don't know how much food my 9mo baby should eat during the day in terms of serving sizes. I think I'm feeding her less.
Food introduction: The general recommendation for food introduction in infants is rice cereal at 4 -6 months, vegetables at 5 -6 months, fruits and fruit juices at 6 months, finger foods & meats at 9 months. A three meal two snack schedule is the usual goal, but adapting this schedule to your family's normal routine should be fine as long as your baby is comfortable and gaining weight appropriately. ...Read more
About cakes and fat. I heard that pound cake is called pound cake because it takes a pound of butter to make one cake (of what size?). Is it true?
Not for here: I think you should post this question to a chef! although most of us have great common knowledge, they don't teach recipes for meals in medical school. ...Read more
All cakes are: Cake is oil + sugar + flour, with little or no fiber, and very little protein. That means cake is dangerous (basically, it's junk food). However, good cakes are delicious, so eating a little every now and then is fine to do. How a cake is made (steamed, baked, microwaved, etc...) doesn't add any danger to the cake, but frying it (as in donuts or fried twinkies) adds even more oil to the cake! ...Read more

A friend of mine has phases (lasting several days) in which he eats **nothing but** sugars like bags of sweets, cakes, etc. What could cause this?
I regularly exercise, i even have around 10% body fat. I eat good, however, i will sometimes eat a lot of sweets (cookies, cake, etc). Can it harm me?
Depends on how much: Sugar is considered a poison by many but a famous saying is "the poison is in the dose." if you eat healthy most of the time ; exercise, occasional sweets in moderation may not be terrible, but "a lot of sweets" isn't healthy (but again, not too bad if only on rare occasions). Sweets cause more harm on an empty stomach, less harm when in small amounts after a good meal. See http://nyti.Ms/15xi2o8. ...Read more
