Rectal Lump (Overview)

Rectal lump is a symptom in which a person has a lump in the rectum, found during an exam of the rectum (the end portion of the large intestine, just before the anus). The lump can be a growth (such as a tumor) in rectum, or it can be a mass in the pelvis outside of the intestine.

Probably an: External hemorrhoid that thrombosed or clotted and now has ulcerated and as the clot dissolves, old blood is released. Could also be an abscess or fistula. If in doubt see your regular doctor to have it checked out. ...Read more

Is there anyway to get rid of skin tag besides going to a doctor? The last one said I had one but never saw it (i felt firm lump in rectum).

Is there anyway to get rid of skin tag besides going to a doctor? The last one said I had one but never saw it (i felt firm lump in rectum).

Probably not.: If the tag is big enough to cause a "firm lump", it's not something you can handle yourself; and there's no way to reach it anyway! let a doctor take care of it. ...Read more

Lumps: If those lumps are purple and soft and compressible, they may be hemorrhoids. Or they could be skin tags that grew as your body's way of healing from anal fissures (cuts) due to constipation. Many possibilities: A pruritic mass in the perianal area can be many things. Internal/external hemorrhoids can protrude and cause itching, and is easily diagnosed on physical exam. Fistula with abscess, inclusion cysts of skin, and condyloma also can give these symptoms. Rarely cancers of the skin or rectum can protrude.
